I know here in Houston if there are issues with an apartment where tenants live then the health department can inspect the property and talk with the landlord about making improvements.
I’m new to the after treatment recovery and recently moved into a Oxford sober housing. i am currently looking for work but still need help replacing my drivers license, because in order to get a job that takes taxes out you must provide i.d. to work in such places. so I’m attempting this list of financial assistance help providers is there anywhere that can assist in gaining a state i.d. or drivers license? also somewhere to help with assistance in sober living rent even if its only a portion if not the entire first month of rent? and what about assistance for food, clothing, work boots or tools? because in order to get food stamps you must have proof of residence and also proof of identity. its not easy to get back after hitting rock bottom. i also feel there could be assistance program for cellular phone because it is almost necessary in getting a job and receiving call backs, not every house has access to a computer or phones. thanks .

Regarding the need for ID assistance in Austin, you can contact a nonprofit like Sunrise Community Church Hub. You can contact them at 512.368.2685. They offer things like ID assistance, clothing, and many of the other services you are seeking. There is something that most Austin homeless shelters offer which is Coordinated Housing Assessments. This helps you to find housing programs in Austin. If you are referred to housing by a homeless shelter you will get more priority as opposed to someone who went to Austin Housing Authority and applied.
Regarding ID assistance you can also contact an agency like Trinity Center at 512.610.3542 who helps some pay for ID and birth certificates.
Regarding some of your other needs contact an agency like Austin Resource Center for the Homeless (ARCH). Agencies like this are good for helping people in your situation. They can help you connect to a case manager, job assistance in Austin, healthcare and more. Before you try to do all these things on your own consider contacting an agency like this because they may be able to help you with multiple issues (applying for food stamps, etc) in one location.
