Read this article to learn more about what to do if you are denied Medicaid.
What To Do If You Are Denied Medicaid
Simply contact Lone Star Legal Aid. They’ve served low-income residents of Houston since 1948 and they can help you understand and navigate the enrollment process for CHIP and Children’s Medicaid.
If your child applied for CHIP/Medicaid and was turned down, had either of the aforementioned and benefits were terminated or you’re a parent who needs health insurance Lone Star Legal Aid can assist you.
Cost of CHIP/Medicaid
If your child qualifies for Medicaid you likely won’t pay anything. If they qualify for CHIP $50 or less covers ALL your children.
Benefits of CHIP/Medicaid
The health insurance can cover things like:
- office visits
- prescription drugs
- medical supplies
- dental care
- hospital care
- mental health service
- eye exams
- glasses
Not only will health insurance give you peace of mind knowing your child’s illness will be treated but the coverage also prevents you from paying the federal penalty for lack of health insurance. If you have questions regarding the penalty Lone Star Legal Aid can answer those questions as well.
