One reason why I recommend Harris Health System if you are uninsured in Harris County is their large healthcare network.
While low cost clinics like FQHCs can provide you with primary care and preventative services, they may lack the facilities to treat more complicated procedures. Harris Health System on the other hand has the facilites (2 trauma hospitals in Houston) to treat you if you surgery or anything complex.

My brother currently has Gold Card Services. He is in dire need for an eye exam, and new glasses. Does Harris County Health provide for these services? (Eye exam, eye glass frames and prescription glasses?
Hi Janet, I don’t know of anyone personally who has received eye care, but on the Harris Health website they list Ophalmology as a specialty they offer.

To make an appointment your brother would need to call the appointment line at 713.526.4243. To be referred for eye care he may need a referral from his primary care doctor at Harris Health System.
But to answer your questions it does look like they have eye doctors to possibly help him w an eye exam, glasses, etc.
