We are Two people in Waco Texas that the food Stamp Office is giving $26.00 a month to in Snap Benefits, and it’s very wrong we are both retired and make $2086 together a month, two people that make $2396 get $459.00 a month, we should be getting the Max amount of $459.00! How can I appeal this very wrong decision ? $26.00 is very ridiculous! I would very much appreciate a quick answer.
Have a Blessed Day
Hi Debra first I would try using the Texas food stamp calculator to see how much benefits you are entitled to. Monthly income is a factor, but so are deductions. Things like your gas and water bill, mortgage, medical costs all help to lower your net income. If you do not list all deductions then that could be the reason you are only getting $26. Again first try the Texas food stamp calculator, enter your monthly income and deductions to see what you get.
After using the food stamp calculator if you see that you should receive more snap benefits check out this article on how you appeal a food stamp decision.
Hope that helps you Debra.
