Additional Documents Needed To Apply For Food Stamps In Texas

In order to apply for food stamps, you’ll need to fill out your SNAP application and provide these documents.


Your ID is used to prove that you are a Texas resident. Your Texas Driver’s License or Texas ID card can be used as proof.

Proof Of Residence

Examples of proof of residence could be utility bills, a driver’s license, a Texas identification card, or even a letter from a non-related landlord.

Income Statements

Submit your last three pay stubs, self-employment documents, and a letter of your employer or your last fiscal year’s tax returns.

Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or Pension Benefits

You may submit your award letter as well as pay stubs to support these documents.

Proof Of Citizenship

This could include the birth certificate (copies of both sides), Medicare card, US passport as well as a Certificate of Naturalization.
